The FloRugby Top 100 reaches its final stop.

After working through the depth of the global game, from rising stars and established internationals to Lions standouts and World Cup winners, the countdown ends with the 10 best rugby players in the world entering the 2026 season.

This year’s top 10 reflects where the sport is right now. France and South Africa dominate the list. Ireland remains represented by two of the most important players in its system, while New Zealand and Italy each land one of the sport’s most compelling names.

The No. 1 spot also has a new name.

Here are FloRugby’s top 10 rugby players in the world.

10. Tommaso Menoncello | Stade Toulousain | Italy | Top 14


Tommaso Menoncello has become one of the biggest reasons Italy no longer feels like an easy out in the Six Nations.

The centre brings a rare mix of size, pace and control to the midfield. He can carry through contact, challenge defenders in space and hold up defensively against some of the best backs in the world.

Now, one of the best centres in the world heads to Toulouse, after a transfer from Benetton was announced in May. There he'll team up with two other elite athletes in the Top 10. 

What To Know:

  • Menoncello won the 2024 Guinness Men’s Six Nations Player of the Championship award and was shortlisted again in 2025 and 2026.
  • Scored in Italy’s 2026 Six Nations wins over Scotland and England.
  • Menoncello had 12 clean breaks, 26 defenders beaten and 423 meters gained in the 2025-26 URC season.

9. Ox Nche | Hollywoodbets Sharks | South Africa | URC

Ox Nche’s place in the top 10 says a lot about how valuable he has become.

Props do not always receive the same attention as try scorers or playmakers, but Nche’s influence is impossible to ignore. South Africa’s game still begins with forward pressure, and Nche gives the Springboks one of the most reliable loosehead props in the world.

What To Know:

  • Nche was nominated for the 2025 World Rugby Men’s 15s Player of the Year award.
  • He became the first prop nominated for the award since 2001. 

8. Jamison Gibson-Park | Leinster Rugby | Ireland | URC

Jamison Gibson-Park remains one of the best tempo players in rugby.

Ireland and Leinster both rely on speed at the breakdown and quick service from the ruck, leaving defenses dead in the track at times. 

At 34, Gibson-Park is central to Ireland's play style and replacing his match management and quickness will be one of the program’s biggest long-term challenges.

What To Know:

  • Gibson-Park started the first two tests of the 2025 British & Irish Lions series against Australia.
  • He climbs from No. 29 in last year’s FloRugby Top 100 into the top 10 this year.

7. Thomas Ramos | Stade Toulousain | France | Top 14

Simply put, Thomas Ramos is one of the best goal-kickers in the world and one of the greatest points scorers in French rugby history. 

That rise took time. Ramos debuted for France in 2019, but he didn’t fully become Les Bleus’ first-choice fullback until 2023, when he already was 27 years old. 

Since then, his ability to cover fly-half and fullback, score off the tee, create with tactical kicks and deliver under pressure has made him one of the most valuable backs in the sport. His 2026-2027 season will be the last with Toulouse, as Ramos is headed to Racing 92 following the 2027 Rugby World Cup. 

What To Know:

  • Ramos became France’s all-time leading points scorer in 2025.
  • He reached 563 international points by March 2026 after only 52 Test caps.
  • He kicked the late penalty that helped France beat England 48-46 and secure another Six Nations title.

6. Antoine Dupont | Stade Toulousain | France | Top 14

To be fair, if Dupont hadn't missed most of 2025, he'd probably be No. 1 on this list or close to it. 

The only thing keeping him from being higher is time missed. Dupont spent much of the previous year working back from a serious knee injury, and France had to play without its most important player for a long stretch. 

By the 2026 Six Nations, he was back leading France, reminding everyone why he remains one of the most complete scrum-halves in rugby history.

What To Know:

  • Dupont suffered a serious knee injury during the 2025 Six Nations.
  • He spent more than nine months sidelined before returning to club action with Toulouse in late 2025.
  • He was back captaining France by the 2026 Six Nations opener against Ireland.

5. Ardie Savea | TBA | New Zealand | TBA 

Last year, we rated Ardie Savea at No. 1 in the FloRugby Top 100, and he remains one of the safest top-five picks in the sport. 

Few players have been as consistently elite across the last several years. Savea carries, tackles, competes at the breakdown and still plays with one of the highest work rates in world rugby.

After starring for the Hurricanes and Moana Pasifika, he spent the 2025-2026 Japan Rugby League One season with Kobelco Kobe Steelers and helped them win the league title. With Moana Pasifika’s future uncertain, his club situation currently remains unresolved. 

What To Know:

  • Savea was named All Blacks captain for the 2026 season.
  • He entered the year with more than 100 Test caps for New Zealand.
  • He scored twice in Kobe’s semifinal win over Tokyo Sungoliath.

4. Malcolm Marx | Kubota Spears | South Africa | JRLO

Malcolm Marx has one of the strongest résumés in the top 10. 

The Springboks hooker was named 2025 World Rugby Men’s 15s Player of the Year, adding another major honor to one of the best forward careers of this era. Marx has been central to South Africa’s dominance. 

He is powerful in contact, dangerous over the ball and reliable at the set piece, giving the Springboks one of the most complete hookers in world rugby.

What To Know:

  • Marx won the 2025 World Rugby Men’s 15s Player of the Year award.
  • He started 11 Tests for South Africa in 2025.
  • He scored four Rugby Championship tries during the season.

3. Tadhg Beirne | Munster Rugby | Ireland | URC

Ireland and Munster ask Tadhg Beirne to do a little bit of everything, and he usually does. 

He can play lock or flanker, challenge the breakdown, win lineout ball, carry in traffic and make tackles at a high rate. His value is not built on one skill. It is built on how many different areas of the game he impacts. 

That showed up again during the 2026 Six Nations.

What To Know:

  • Beirne started the first two Tests of the 2025 British & Irish Lions series against Australia.
  • He was named Player of the Series after the Lions’ tour of Australia.
  • During the 2026 Six Nations, he made 73 tackles, won 7 turnovers and stole 2 lineouts.

2. Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu | DHL Stormers | South Africa | URC

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu is the boldest top-three pick on the list, but his rise has been hard to ignore. 

South Africa’s identity still starts with power, defense and pressure. Feinberg-Mngomezulu gives the Springboks another layer. He brings goal-kicking, pace, and attacking.

His biggest Test moment came against Argentina, when he produced one of the best individual-scoring performances in Springbok history.

What To Know:

  • Feinberg-Mngomezulu scored 37 points against Argentina in 2025, setting a South African single-match Test scoring record.
  • His performance included three tries, eight conversions and two penalties.
  • He was ranked No. 40 in last year’s FloRugby Top 100.
  • He was named the 2025-2026 URC Players’ Player of the Season.

1. Louis Bielle-Biarrey | UBB | France | Top 14

There is a new No. 1 in world rugby. 

Louis Bielle-Biarrey takes the top spot after one of the best two-year runs by a winger in recent memory. 

France has stars throughout its lineup, but Bielle-Biarrey has become its most dangerous finisher and one of the hardest players in the sport to contain in space. 

His 2026 Six Nations made the decision difficult to avoid. Bielle-Biarrey was named Guinness Men’s Six Nations Player of the Championship for the second straight year, scored a tournament-record nine tries in five matches and helped France win the title. 

In a top 10 filled with World Cup winners, Lions standouts, captains and award winners, Bielle-Biarrey rises above the rest at No. 1 in 2026.

What To Know:

  • Bielle-Biarrey won the Six Nations Player of the Championship award in 2025 and 2026.
  • He scored four tries against England as France won 48-46 and sealed the title.
  • He became the first player to score in 10 consecutive Six Nations matches.
