The FloRugby Top 100 countdown reaches its halfway point with a group of players capable of deciding the biggest matches in world rugby. This is where proven stars meet players on the verge of breaking into the sport's highest tier.

Availability, consistency and timing became the defining themes for this section of the rankings. Several players produced top-20 performances when healthy, but injuries, interrupted club seasons and changing roles prevented them from climbing even higher. Others continued to reinforce their reputations through leadership, championship performances and sustained excellence at the Test level.

Here is a closer look at Nos. 50-41 in FloRugby's Top 100 Rugby Players.

50. Wallace Sititi | No. 8 | New Zealand | Chiefs | Super Rugby

Few players have climbed faster over the past two seasons than Sititi, 23. Combining the hard-nosed ball carrying of a traditional No. 8 with the vision and handling of a natural playmaker, the Chiefs star remains one of New Zealand rugby's brightest young forwards.

Knee and high-ankle injuries disrupted much of his 2025 campaign, but his return included a dramatic golden-point winner against the Hurricanes, his first match as Chiefs captain and five tries in eight Super Rugby Pacific appearances before concussion ended his playoff run. The ceiling remains obvious. Sustained availability is the only thing preventing a much steeper climb.

49. Tomos Williams | Scrum-Half | Wales | Saracens | Gallagher PREM

Quick-thinking, creative and dangerous around the fringes, Williams, 31, has become one of Europe's premier attacking scrum-halves. He captained Gloucester before moving to Saracens for the 2026-27 season, but injuries interrupted what otherwise looked like a career-defining year.

A hamstring injury ended his British & Irish Lions tour after two tries against the Western Force, and a later shoulder injury further disrupted his club season. Even so, his pace, vision and passing remain among the very best in world rugby.

48. Kurt-Lee Arendse | Wing | South Africa | Mitsubishi Sagamihara DynaBoars | JRLO

Blistering pace, dazzling footwork and world-class finishing have made Arendse, 30, one of rugby's most feared outside backs. His 2025-26 season was split between Japan and South Africa, but injuries limited him to only a handful of appearances for the Bulls after another prolific spell in League One.

He's headed back to Japan this season to play for the DynaBoars after signing a new contract. Arendse's Springbok pedigree and finishing ability keep him comfortably inside the Top 50.

47. Mack Hansen | Wing | Ireland | Connacht Rugby | URC

Creative, unpredictable and equally capable of creating opportunities for himself or those around him, Hansen, 28, remains one of rugby's most entertaining backs.

Unfortunately, injuries dominated his 2025-26 season. Foot surgery ruled him out of the Six Nations and much of Connacht's campaign after he featured in five matches during the victorious British & Irish Lions tour. When healthy, few wings combine playmaking instincts and attacking creativity quite like Hansen.

46. Blair Kinghorn | Fullback | Scotland | Toulouse Rugby | Top 14

Towering under the high ball and equally comfortable directing play from fullback or fly-half, Kinghorn, 29, has developed into one of rugby's most complete backs.

He followed a record-setting 2025 Six Nations campaign by reclaiming Scotland's No. 15 jersey throughout 2026 while continuing to excel for Toulouse. A delayed release and minor injury limited his British & Irish Lions opportunities, but his remarkable consistency across club and international rugby keeps him firmly among the world's elite fullbacks.

45. Angus Bell | Loosehead Prop | Australia | NSW Waratahs | Super Rugby

Athletic, powerful and technically outstanding, Bell, 25, has established himself as one of the premier loosehead props in international rugby. He celebrated his 50th Wallabies cap before embarking on a successful sabbatical with Ulster, helping the Irish province reach the EPCR Challenge Cup Final before returning to Australia.

Australia Rugby has secured Bell through 2027, recognizing both his world-class scrummaging and growing leadership within the Wallabies. When healthy, very few loosehead props influence matches the way Bell does.

44. Damian McKenzie | Fly-Half | New Zealand | Chiefs | Super Rugby

Lightning quick with ball in hand and fearless in attack, McKenzie, 31, remains one of rugby's most electrifying playmakers.

The Chiefs' all-time leading scorer reached 150 Super Rugby appearances after missing the opening weeks of the 2026 season on paternity leave, while continuing to provide game-changing moments for the All Blacks, including a decisive cameo against Scotland. His ability to create something from nothing has never been questioned. The debate has always been whether consistency can match the brilliance.

43. Ollie Chessum | Lock | England | Leicester Tigers | Gallagher PREM

Powerful in contact, dominant at the lineout and increasingly influential as a leader, Chessum has become one of England's foundational forwards.

Leicester rewarded his development by naming him captain ahead of the 2025-26 season, and despite managing a plantar fascia injury, he started the decisive second Test and appeared in all three matches during the British & Irish Lions' victorious series.

His leadership responsibilities continue to grow, and at just 25, Chessum still appears destined to climb even higher.

42. Handré Pollard | Fly-Half | South Africa | Vodacom Bulls | URC

Calm under pressure and one of rugby's most trusted game managers, Pollard, 32, remains the fly-half coaches want when championships are on the line.

Returning to the Bulls, the two-time Rugby World Cup winner immediately delivered 129 URC points, three tries, four assists and a dramatic late match-winning penalty against the Scarlets while guiding Pretoria back to another URC Final. His goal-kicking percentage may fluctuate, but very few No. 10s control knockout rugby with Pollard's authority.

41. Thibaud Flament | Lock | France | Toulouse Rugby

Elegant, athletic and one of the most complete second rows in world rugby, Flament, 29, continues to thrive for both Toulouse and France.

A forefoot injury interrupted what had been another outstanding club season, but he returned in time to help France capture the 2026 Six Nations while remaining one of Toulouse's most important lineout operators.

His intelligence, mobility and technical quality rarely command the headlines of some teammates, yet few locks influence every phase of the game as consistently.
