Northampton Saints Rugby became one of the rare clubs to beat the Glasgow Warriors in Scotstoun Stadium over the last year as the English club picked up an important road win in Round 1 of the 2023-2024 Investec Champions Cup.
And now they must defend its homegrounds against a tough Toulon club that lost one of the closest matches of Round 1.

The Glasgow Warriors, who beat Irish power Leinster in URC play at home, had been one of the best clubs in Europe when it comes to defending the home grounds. Northampton didn't care.
In what was the first game of the Champions Cup, Northampton led 22-5 at halftime and held back the Glasgow Warriors just long enough in the final 40 minutes to win 28-19.
RC Toulon Vs. Exeter Chiefs Round 1 Investec Champions Cup Results
The Exeter Chiefs were semifinalist in the previous Champions Cup and they started this year's tournament off with a huge road win, 19-18. It was the closest match of the first week-- aside from the one that didn't end in a drawl (Munster and Aviron Bayonnais).

The two clubs last met in the 2009 European Challenge Cup, with Northampton winning 52-11. Overall, the Saints are 2-0 against Toulon, winning by a combined score of 108-14.
