Can-Ams Kick Off

The Can-Am Tournament is set for this weekend in Saranac Lake, NY with a new competition, and FloRugby streaming Finals Day live.

Friday sees the tournament kick off with Men's Over 35s, Over 45s, Over 50s, over 60s, and Women over 40s.

Teams include Delmarva, Franks & Beans, Brockport, Old Breed, Wild Rovers, and Connecticut Grey, as well as Ontario Loyalists, Old Dirty Clowns, Lockport Lardass, Mystic Geese, Green Mountain Geezers, Cardinals, Chesty Disciples, and MOB.

Old-players' rugby has the best nicknames.

Three-Day Can-Ams A Battle Of Attrition

On Saturday the Men's Club division, with Buffalo, Hartford, Cardinals, Danbury, Old Breed, Wild Oats, Eastside Hyenas, and Union County in action in Pool A.

In Pool B you'll see Ottawa Ospreys, Morris, Caves & Ditches, Lost Land, Long Island, Brockport Doggies, South Buffalo, and Wilkes Barre.

Men's Social and Women's Club are also in action.

Friday sees the beginning of the U18 competition for the Boys and Girls. These games will be round-robin games among teams called USA Red, USA White, and USA Blue. This tournament will be 7s (as opposed to 15s for the others) and will culminate in championships that will be part of the FloRugby live stream.

The Boys U18 games will lead to the naming of an extended roster for the USA Youth Olympics squad for the Youth Olympics this fall in Buenos Aires.
