The Gallagher PREM returns Sept. 25 with new coaches, new stars and dramatically reshaped rosters across England's top flight. While defending champion Northampton Saints and runner-up Exeter Chiefs are hoping continuity keeps them among the title favorites, several challengers spent the summer aggressively attacking the transfer market in an effort to close the gap.

No club embraced change more than Newcastle Red Bulls, whose remarkable overhaul included more than 30 additions after finishing at the bottom of last season's table. Sale Sharks also assembled one of the Premiership's strongest recruiting classes by bringing in England legend Courtney Lawes, Joe Marchant and Christ Tshiunza, while Gloucester Rugby added Wales captain Jac Morgan and Dewi Lake to an already talented squad. Saracens, meanwhile, begin a new era under director of rugby Brendan Venter after replacing longtime boss Mark McCall, adding England international George Martin, Alfie Barbeary and Wales scrum-half Tomos Williams.

Not every contender made sweeping changes. Northampton Saints retained the nucleus of the squad that won last season's Gallagher PREM title but faces the challenge of replacing England fullback George Furbank after his move to Harlequins. Bath Rugby also experienced more departures than arrivals, including the loss of Springboks prop Thomas du Toit, while Harlequins answered by landing Furbank as one of the marquee signings of the summer.

With the 2027 Rugby World Cup less than a year away, this Gallagher PREM season will serve as one of the final auditions for many international stars. From blockbuster signings to difficult departures, every club enters the campaign looking different than it did when last season ended.
