Dragons RFC return to Rodney Parade on Saturday for their final home match of the season, hosting Edinburgh Rugby in a URC clash with both teams eager to close the campaign strongly. With the hosts looking to reward their supporters and Edinburgh carrying momentum from consecutive victories, the matchup brings significant intensity into Newport.
Head coach Filo Tiatia emphasized the importance of the occasion for Dragons and their supporters.
“We’re looking forward to the game and want to finish the season strong,” Tiatia said. “It’s our last home game and important to us how we front up.”

Tiatia also highlighted the challenge presented by Edinburgh’s physicality and experience.
“Edinburgh will pose a stern test,” he said. “They are a good set piece team, have some good plays and can be very direct.”
Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt said confidence within his squad has grown following strong recent performances. “Back-to-back wins have given the group genuine momentum and there’s a real energy about the place,” Everitt said. “But we believe in what we’re doing right now and we’d love to make it three wins on the bounce.”

How The Rankings Work
These cross-competition power rankings compare professional rugby union clubs across major leagues using a standings-based rating model. Each team’s rating is shaped by record, point differential, league strength, previous rating and major knockout competition status.
Champions Cup semifinalists receive an added boost because those results provide the strongest cross-league signal, while Challenge Cup semifinalists receive a smaller adjustment. The model also uses league-specific caps and movement limits, so strong records in developing or lower-strength competitions do not outweigh proven performance in deeper leagues.
The rankings are meant to estimate current club strength across competitions, not simply mirror domestic league tables.
