Bristol Bears and Saracens meet at Ashton Gate on Saturday in a pivotal Gallagher PREM Rugby clash with playoff implications growing by the week. Both sides enter the matchup following consecutive victories, but with only four rounds remaining, another win is essential to keep pressure on fourth-placed Exeter Chiefs.
Bristol continue to battle through a major injury crisis, with Gabriel Oghre and Benjamin Grondona the latest additions to a lengthy unavailable list. Director of rugby Pat Lam has been forced to improvise, including bringing hooker Fred Davies back to the club as emergency cover. Despite those setbacks, the Bears remain firmly in contention thanks to their attacking quality and the leadership of captain Fitz Harding.

Saracens arrive in strong form after putting 85 points on Sale Sharks three weeks ago, powered by breakout wing Noah Caluori, who scored five tries in that match alone. The young back is now closing in on the single-season PREM try-scoring record, while Charlie Bracken continues to establish himself at scrum-half in a refreshed Saracens side blending experience with emerging talent.
Bristol’s set-piece remains one of the best in the league, leading the PREM with 193 lineout throws won and a 92.3% success rate. Kalaveti Ravouvou has also been one of the competition’s most dangerous attackers, leading the league in metres gained. Saracens counter with elite attacking numbers, topping the PREM in offloads and defenders beaten, while Caluori’s 18 tries have made him the league’s premier finisher this season.

How The Rankings Work
These cross-competition power rankings compare professional rugby union clubs across major leagues using a standings-based rating model. Each team’s rating is shaped by record, point differential, league strength, previous rating and major knockout competition status.
Champions Cup semifinalists receive an added boost because those results provide the strongest cross-league signal, while Challenge Cup semifinalists receive a smaller adjustment. The model also uses league-specific caps and movement limits, so strong records in developing or lower-strength competitions do not outweigh proven performance in deeper leagues.
The rankings are meant to estimate current club strength across competitions, not simply mirror domestic league tables.
A FloRugby annual subscription provides access to live matches and replays from the URC, Gallagher PREM Rugby, Top 14 and EPCR competitions throughout the global rugby season.
