Before the 2025/26 Gallagher PREM season, a player had scored at least five tries in a game on just three occasions, but that tally has doubled thanks to two men.
This weekend alone, both Noah Caluori and Gabriel Hamer-Webb crossed the whitewash five times, against Sale Sharks and Newcastle Red Bulls respectively.
Remarkably, it was the second time that Caluori has achieved the feat this season, with the other five-try showing also coming against Sale in the teams’ first meeting back in round four.

It puts the Saracens youngster in a strong position to end the season as the Gallagher PREM’s top try-scorer, with Caluori currently sitting on 17 tries, seven clear of his nearest rivals – Bristol Bears’ Kalaveti Ravouvou and Northampton Saints’ Tommy Freeman.
Hamer-Webb, meanwhile, has eight to his name, good enough for joint sixth overall.
Both Caluori and Hamer-Webb will need to go one better to equal the all-time record for tries in a single Gallagher PREM match, held jointly by Christian Wade and Ryan Constable.

Wade, who is second all-time for tries scored in the league, scored six times for Wasps against Worcester a decade ago, while Constable’s efforts were for Saracens all the way back in 2000 against Bedford.
In addition to Wade and Constable, the only other player to score five tries in a game before this season was cross-code superstar Lesley Vainikolo, who did so for Gloucester Rugby against Leeds in 2007.
Every player to score five or more tries in the Gallagher PREM game:
- Christian Wade - 6 Tries, WASPS v Worcester 2016
- Ryan Constable - 6 Tries, SARACENS v Bedford 2000
- Lesley Vainikolo - 5 Tries, GLOUCESTER Rugby v Leeds 2007
- Noah Caluori - 5 Tries, SARACENS v Sale Sharks R4, 2026
- Gabriel Hamer-Webb - 5 Tries, LEICESTER TIGERS v Newcastle Red Bulls R13, 2026
- Noah Caluori - 5 Tries, SARACENS v Sale Sharks R13, 2026
