“We know the size of the challenge ahead of us with Vodacom Bulls coming in,” he said. “The crowd at Rodney have been great… we are trying to put a performance together that the fans are proud of.”
Vodacom Bulls head coach Johan Ackermann acknowledged the threat posed by the hosts, pointing to their recent form and balanced style of play.
“The Dragons are a quality side, and they’ve proved it by making the semifinals of the EPCR Challenge Cup,” he said. “But ultimately, we’ve got our own standards to play to and must make sure we produce an 80-minute performance.”
With both teams clear on the challenge, the clash in Newport is set to test physicality, discipline and execution.
