The DHL Stormers are chasing a historic finish as the BKT URC season enters its final stretch.
With four rounds remaining, the Stormers sit second on the table — just four points behind leaders Glasgow Warriors — and still control their own destiny. A crucial home clash with Glasgow next week could ultimately decide who finishes top of the standings.
That top spot is one of two major goals for John Dobson’s side. The Stormers are aiming to finish first in the URC for the first time since joining the competition in 2021, while also targeting a league attendance record currently held by Leinster Rugby.

After falling just short in recent seasons — finishing third, fifth and fifth following their title-winning debut campaign — the Stormers believe this year presents a real opportunity.
Dobson made it clear there are no distractions left after their narrow 28-27 Champions Cup quarterfinal loss to Toulon.
“There are no excuses,” Dobson said. “We don’t have to worry about Europe. The opportunity is entirely in our hands.”
The Stormers remained in France briefly after that defeat to regroup, using the setback as motivation rather than a blow to confidence.
“The players were irritated, but their confidence wasn’t shattered,” Dobson added. “In some ways, it was enhancing.”
Next up is a key home test against Connacht, a side still fighting for a playoff spot. Dobson warned against underestimating the visitors.
“They’re desperate, and desperate teams are dangerous,” he said.
Beyond the standings, the Stormers are also closing in on a URC attendance record. With just two home games remaining, they are within reach of surpassing Leinster’s mark — another sign of the growing energy around the club.
A potential top finish would also give the Stormers a major advantage in the playoffs, with the possibility of hosting key knockout matches in Cape Town.
With momentum building and the stakes rising, the message is simple: no excuses — just opportunity.
