With five matches across the opening weekend, the numbers stacked up fast. Wings put points on the board, back-rowers found space in broken play and a few value picks returned massive totals. Price tags matter in this game, but so does production. Week 1 reminded everyone that the right pick in the right role can be a difference-maker.
Here’s a breakdown of the 10 players who set the early pace in Premiership Rugby fantasy and what their numbers mean heading into Round 2.
Round 1 Fantasy Rugby Stars
Here are the best PREM fantasy stars from Round 1.
1. Immanuel Feyi-Waboso (Exeter Chiefs) — 32.5 points
Listed at £10.1m ($12.3m), Feyi-Waboso was every bit the premium wing away to Northampton. He scored Exeter’s opening try, added a second in their comeback, and stacked four clean breaks with four defenders beaten. That all-around effort made him the top scorer of the weekend.
2. Edoardo Todaro (Northampton Saints) — 30.5 points
At just £4m ($4.9m), Todaro was the value star of Round 1. He scored twice, picked up nine points from carrying, and proved a dangerous option as Northampton builds out its back three. For managers hunting bargains, he’s now firmly on the radar.
3. Nick Tompkins (Saracens) — 29 points
For £4.6m ($5.6m), Tompkins turned in a dominant display. He scored twice, made three clean breaks and registered three turnovers, taking home Player of the Match honors. His total made him the top scoring midfielder by 11 points.
4. Will Evans (Harlequins) — 28 points
The Quins back-rower had a hat trick and plenty more in his fantasy line. At £4.2m ($5.1m), Evans added three clean breaks and heavy tackle numbers against Bath. If he can keep this pace, he’ll be one of the steals of the season.
5. Paul Brown-Bampoe (Exeter Chiefs) — 27.5 points
Brown-Bampoe made his case at £6.6m ($8.1m). The Chiefs wing logged four clean breaks, beat four defenders and scored, then piled on 12.5 points from meters carried. He looks like a weekly starter in fantasy lineups.
6. Henry Arundell (Bath Rugby) — 25.5 points
At £7.7m ($9.4m), Arundell delivered exactly what Bath needed. With his speed and eye for space, he capitalized on his chances and reminded fantasy managers that he’s one of the league’s most explosive backs.
6. Louis Rees-Zammit (Bristol Bears) — 25.5 points
Also at 25.5, Rees-Zammit showed how dangerous he remains at £9.7m ($11.8m). Quiet early, he still broke free for a long-range score and added valuable meters carried in Bristol’s win.
8. Tom Jordan (Bristol Bears) — 25 points
Jordan, listed at £5.6m ($6.8m), shifted roles and still thrived. Starting at fullback and then stepping in at fly-half, he kicked well, set up a try and was named Player of the Match. For managers, that versatility adds real value.
8. Tom Willis (Saracens) — 25 points
A trusted option in the back row, Willis at £8.2m ($10m) brought his usual mix of carries, tackles and turnovers. He beat four defenders and kept Saracens’ attack moving, proving why he’s priced near the top of his position.
8. Joe Carpenter (Sale Sharks) — 25 points
At £7m ($8.5m), Carpenter capped off the top 10. He scored for Sale, made three clean breaks and topped 100 meters with ball in hand, even as points were scarce for the Sharks overall.
What We Learned From Week 1
Round 1 highlighted three truths for fantasy rugby. First, premium wingers still deliver value when they can add clean breaks to their finishing. Second, mid-priced midfielders who can score tries and create turnovers offer game-winning upside. And third, 80-minute fullbacks in structured systems provide a safe floor, even in low-scoring matches.
Week 2 will test which of these numbers are repeatable. But for now, Feyi-Waboso, Todaro and Tompkins have shown that one strong weekend can change the fantasy picture fast.
