England are world champions once again after a thrilling 33-13 victory over Canada in the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup final at a sold-out Allianz Stadium in London. In front of 82,000 roaring fans, the Red Roses showed their trademark power and composure, weathering an early Canadian strike before pulling away with clinical execution.

Canada stunned the crowd first, with Asia Hogan-Rochester slicing through for an opening try just minutes into the match. But England’s response was immediate. Ellie Kildunne and Jess Breach each found space to cross the line, and Amy Cokayne muscled her way over from close range to give England a 21-8 halftime lead. Alex Matthews, playing her fourth World Cup, sealed her legacy with two tries in the second half, including the dagger in the 68th minute that broke Canadian hopes of a late comeback.

Still, Canada never stopped battling. Hogan-Rochester added a second try, and captain Sophie de Goede kept her side in the fight with a penalty goal. Their grit and attacking flair earned them admiration from fans worldwide, even as England’s relentless scrum and defensive line proved too much.

With the win, England captured their third World Cup title, extending a record-breaking win streak and cementing themselves as the undisputed queens of rugby.
