Sale Sharks hosted Gloucester Rugby in the 2025 Premiership opener Sept. 25, 2:45 p.m. ET. The opener ended in a hefty 27-10 Sale Sharks win.

The Gallagher PREM season kicked off in thrilling fashion as Sale Sharks edged past Gloucester Rugby in a fiery 27-10 contest.
From the outset, both teams showcased their attacking intent, with Sale breaking the deadlock through Tom Roebuck’s early try after exploiting a defensive gap. Gloucester responded immediately with a pick-and-go try by Jack Clement, converted by Ross Byrne, keeping the scoreline close.

Sale’s forwards dominated at key moments, with a rolling maul leading to a try in the 56th minute, while George Ford added crucial points from conversions and a penalty.
