The Gallagher PREM season kicked off in thrilling fashion as Sale Sharks edged past Gloucester Rugby in a fiery 27-10 contest.

From the outset, both teams showcased their attacking intent, with Sale breaking the deadlock through Tom Roebuck’s early try after exploiting a defensive gap. Gloucester responded immediately with a pick-and-go try by Jack Clement, converted by Ross Byrne, keeping the scoreline close. 

Sale’s forwards dominated at key moments, with a rolling maul leading to a try in the 56th minute, while George Ford added crucial points from conversions and a penalty. Joe Carpenter shone in the second half, scoring twice after slick passing moves, with Hyron Andrews adding another try late in the game.

Gloucester battled hard, but a yellow card to Jack Clement disrupted their momentum, allowing Sale to assert control. The Sharks’ mix of tactical kicking, incisive breaks and clinical finishing ensured a statement win to open their season. Fans were treated to 80 minutes of end-to-end action, signaling an exciting start to the Gallagher PREM  era.
