Preview: Leinster Rugby vs Harlequins

Few clubs embody the spectacle of PREM Rugby quite like Harlequins.

Known for their attacking flair and willingness to play expansive rugby, the London-based side return to Twickenham Stoop this season eager to contend for silverware once again.

Founded in 1866, Quins are one of rugby’s oldest clubs and were among the founding members of the Rugby Football Union. Their history is marked by triumphs such as Premiership titles in 2012 and 2021 and Challenge Cup success in Europe, but also setbacks like their lone relegation in 2005.

Today, Harlequins lean on a roster that blends veteran leadership with young stars capable of lighting up a match. With Marcus Smith continuing to pull the strings at fly-half, Quins remain one of the Premiership’s most entertaining sides. Fans know that while consistency is sometimes elusive, the magic of a Quins comeback is never far away.

Harlequins Roster and Key Players

The Harlequins pack is led by young prop Fin Baxter, one of England’s rising stars, alongside Jordan Els, who provides scrummaging stability. In the engine room, Joe Launchbury brings experience at lock, while Alex Dombrandt captains the back row with his blend of carrying power and defensive presence. Chandler Cunningham-South and Will Evans add work rate and toughness in open play.

In the backs, the spotlight shines brightest on Marcus Smith, ranked No. 87 in FloRugby’s Top 100. His creativity, footwork and composure make him one of the most dangerous playmakers in world rugby. Danny Care remains a key figure at scrum-half, and outside backs like Cadan Murley and Tyrone Green bring finishing ability and counter-attacking spark.
