Founded in 1873, Gloucester’s history includes winning the first-ever National Knock-Out Cup in 1972 and multiple Challenge Cup titles in Europe. 

Their reputation for physical, uncompromising rugby has never disappeared, even as rivals have evolved with bigger budgets. In the professional era, they’ve produced icons like Phil Vickery and Louis Rees-Zammit, and this season’s group has the blend of youth and international experience that keeps supporters dreaming of silverware.

The 2025–26 Gloucester squad has strong depth in both forwards and backs. In the front row, Val Rapava-Ruskin and Jamal Ford-Robinson provide scrummaging power, while Matias Alemanno brings Argentina international experience at lock.
