South Africa Springboks Roster 2025: What To Know
The South Africa Rugby roster has a mix of veterans and newcomers as the squad begins summer international play.

South Africa Rugby has named a 46-man national roster to begin its 2025 international campaign, featuring a mix of Rugby World Cup winners, returning veterans and four uncapped players.
The Springboks remain ranked No. 1 in the world and enter the season as back-to-back Rugby World Cup champions.

The squad is headlined by experienced leaders, including Siya Kolisi (92 caps), Damian de Allende (87), Eben Etzebeth (131) and Handré Pollard (80), as well as emerging contributors like Kurt-Lee Arendse, Canan Moodie and Manie Libbok.
The Springboks’ depth is spread across all positions, with players returning from international clubs and the domestic United Rugby Championship campaign.
"We have the opportunity to see first-hand how a few of the newer players in the squad perform at this level, so we are excited to see what this group can do." Rassie Erasmus has named his squad to face the @Barbarian_FC 🇿🇦#RSAvBAB #Springbokshttps://t.co/51n1NBhxHS

Four players — Asenathi Ntlabakanye, Vincent Tshituka, Marnus van der Merwe and Neethling Fouche — are seeking their first international caps.
Lood de Jager also returns to the squad following a prolonged injury absence, rejoining the second row after last appearing in a test in July 2023.
South Africa's upcoming international schedule includes a non-cap match against the Barbarians, followed by three test matches in July: two against Italy and one against Georgia.
All four matches, as well as all Rugby Championship fixtures starting in August, will stream live in the United States on FloRugby and the FloSports app.
