As the 2025 Six Nations Championship kicks off, it takes center stage during the break between round four and the knockout phase of the Investec Champions Cup. Reigning champions Ireland, having secured the 2023 and 2024 titles, are aiming for a historic third consecutive victory.

With questions still looming about last year's top Six Nations try-scorer Dan Sheehan while he's recovering from an ACL injury, Ireland will have to rely on its full squad to keep the ball rolling into 2025.

Jack Crowley, and Leinster's Jamison Gibson-Park and Caelan Doris have been making significant waves in the 2024-25 Investec Champions Cup season, and now they’ll be looking to carry that momentum to defend their title.

The roster is spotted with a number of seasoned returners and rising up-and-comers, players that have carried Ireland’s rugby strength to the top of the global stage, leaving their mark in one of the sport’s most prestigious competitions.

Read about a few of the Champions Cup stars that can help make or break Ireland's chances this year.

Ireland Goes For Three In Six Nations With Champions Cup Leaders On Roster

Jack Crowley - Munster

Credited with 31 points so far this season for Munster, Jack Crowley's 11 conversions and 3 penalties for a 78% accuracy rate have put him on this list of must-watch players.

Crowley debuted in Six Nations play with the Irish national team when he was selected for the 2023 tournament and filled a replacement role against Italy in round three.

In 2024, he was selected once again and started each game. He kicked 13-for-16 on conversions and 7-for-8 on penalties and earned one try in their shutout against Italy.

Jamison Gibson-Park - Leinster

Although he was born in New Zealand, Jamison Gibson-Park qualified to represent Ireland on residency grounds in 2019 according to World Rugby's eligibility rules.

He currently leads all Champions Cup players with 247 passes, making up more than 36% of Leinster's 672 total—putting them second in the category. He's also credited with one try, 28 carries, 10 defenders beaten, and 3 turnovers won.

Gibson-Park earned his first cap for Ireland's national team in October of 2020 in their Six Nations Championship match against Italy. Late last year, he was awarded with being named to the 2024 World Rugby Men's Dream Team of the Year, alongside teammate Caelan Doris.

In 2024, he opened the Six Nations tournament with Ireland's first try giving his team an early lead over eventual runner-up France.

Caelan Doris - Leinster

On the defensive side for Leinster, Ireland Rugby's captain Caelan Doris is a force to be reckoned with on the back row.

This season, Doris has 53 tackles made and won 9 turnovers, putting him at the top of the stat sheet across all Champions Cup players.

First called up to the senior Ireland squad in 2020 against Scotland, his debut was ended after just four minutes when he suffered a concussion.

In February of 2024, he captained the team for the first time against Italy and would go on to earn a number of impressive accolades throughout the year: Six Nations Team of the Championship, World Rugby Player of the Year, and no. 8 on the World Rugby Dream Team of the Year.
