Wales Vs. Ireland Women's Rugby: How To Watch Women's Six Nations 2024
Ireland and Wales are looking for their first wins at the 2024 Women’s Six Nations. One will get into the win column when they meet Saturday in Ireland.
After two rounds of competition at the 2024 Guinness Women’s Six Nations, both Ireland women's rugby and Wales women's rugby are winless and sharing space at the bottom of the table at 0-2 and with one point apiece.
The tide will change for one of the two squads when they meet Saturday at Virgin Media Park in Ballyphehane, Cork, Ireland.

Host Ireland opened the 2024 Women’s Six Nations with a 38-17 road loss to France, before playing a competitive game against Italy in Round 2. Unfortunately, Ireland lost 27-21 and fell short of taking home a bonus point.
Wales kicked off the 2024 event by losing to Scotland on Welsh turf for the first time in 20 years, 20-18, and then got pummeled by England 46-10 at the RDS Arena in Dublin.
In the 2023 Women’s Six Nations, Wales cruised past Ireland 31-5 in the opening week of the competition. Wales (3-2, 15 points) went on to finish third in the table behind England and France, while Ireland landed in the bottom spot at 0-5 and with zero points.
In their last five meetings, going back to 2018 (there was no Six Nations in 2021), Wales has won three times (2019, 2022, 2023).
While it does seem likely that neither Ireland nor Wales will be winning the 2024 Six Nations, a third-place performance this time around could mean qualifying for the 2025 Rugby World Cup, if the tournament favorites – England and France – again finish in the top two places.
Through two rounds this year, England and France both are 2-0. England has 10 points and France has nine.
