What's Up With Racing 92's Home Field, U Arena?

What's the deal with this place?

Racing 92's home field, the 30,000-seat U Arena, is a rare thing in professional rugby, but worth a look. U Arena is mostly a music venue, and as such has some snazzy lighting features. 

But more than that, the 353-Euro stadium is an indoor artificial-turf venue, once again something you don't see in the established European leagues — indoor rugby isn't common because the roof has to be really high.

And then there's the screen. Check out the end zone, which is one gigantic scoreboard. It's 2,600 square meters (a little more than half the area of a gridiron football field).

Do we have something like this in the USA? Actually, there are several places. Take, for example, the Grand Park Events Center in Indiana. That facility can accommodate a full-size indoor rugby field, and in fact you could fit Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts, inside it.

It takes a little imagination, but look at what Racing 92 has done.
