The Rugby World Cup 7s at AT&T Park in San Francisco is over. More than 100,000 attended the event, with New Zealand taking the Women's and Men's titles (France and England, respectively, taking 2nd).

The event seems on the surface to be successful. One note about the attendance, this is total attendance of everyone there - fans, players, volunteers. And a fan who shows up on Friday counts as one, and if that fan shows up on Saturday and Sunday, that fan counts as three.

Still, it was a big win for American rugby in terms of hosting a major rugby event, and in fact Sunday may have set a record for a sevens event on USA soil.

World Rugby CEO Brett Gosper gives his impressions.
