USA Rugby Statement Regarding Perry Baker Injury In Madrid
On Sunday, Perry Baker suffered a lower leg injury in the USA’s pool match against Kenya at Madrid Sevens.
MADRID, ESP. (February 22, 2021) - On Sunday, Perry Baker suffered a lower leg injury in the USA’s pool match against Kenya at Madrid Sevens.
The speedster will fly home in the next 24 hours to be fully assessed where a determination will be made on his need for surgery and additional treatment. His return to play timeline will be communicated in the coming weeks. Out of respect for athlete privacy, USA Rugby does not provide details regarding the exact scope and nature of player injuries.
“Thank you for all the support. Much appreciated from myself and my family,” said Baker. Head Coach Mike Friday said, “As a pack, we will come together to do all we can to support Perry and bring him back on the pitch.”
