Pools Set For Club 7s Championships
Who is pool of death at Club 7s finals?
USA Rugby has released the pools for the 2019 USA Rugby Club 7s Championships.
Not to be confused with the drafted pools you saw on the Miss Pass show—which are just for fun—this is very much the real deal.

Women
Pool A: San Diego Surfers, Atlanta Harlequins, NOVA, ARPTC White
Pool B: Scion, Rocky Mountain Magic, Washington Athletic Club, Santa Barbara Academy
Pool C: Berkeley All Blues, New York, Phoenix, DC Furies
Pool D: ARPTC Blue, Life West, Chicago Lions, Boston
There isn't a pool of death here. This is a superbly well-spread competition with former champions and finalists in every pool.
The toughest pool may well be Pool D, where four very strong teams legitimately have their eyes on a spot in the quarterfinals.
But every pool has its demon.
Men
Pool A: Park City Haggis, Mystic River, NAV 7s, Washington Athletic Club
Pool B: Belmont Shore Blue, Chicago Lions, Kansas City Blues, Schuylkill River
Pool C: Denver Barbarians, Westside Ronins, Milwaukee, Atlanta Old White
Pool D: Old Blue, Dallas Reds, Life West, Belmont Shore Gold
Every pool here is brutal, but perhaps Pool A, with Park City (close to the squad that won it all in 2016 and 2017), Mystic (top four last year), NAV 7s (consistently powerful), and WAC (somewhat up-and-down, but potentially the same group that led Atavus to major wins in previous years), is extra-brutal.
Pool B is a meeting of the old-guard, that being established clubs who continue to invest time and effort into sevens.
And it's worth noting that while there's often talk about sevens-specific team cropping up each year, most of these teams are established clubs.
