The Red River region finalizes its 7s qualifying campaign this Saturday at the Rampage 7s in Dallas, TX.

On the women's side it's a mere formality, as both ARPTC sides have locked in their bids to nationals. On the men's side however, only one bid is up for grabs and three teams still have a chance to take it.

New Orleans RFC, the Dallas Reds, and the Austin Huns are all still in it with a shot. NOLA sits in first place, and is in the best position to book its ticket to Kansas City for nationals, but is by no means out of the water just yet. The Dallas Reds are right behind New Orleans and in fact control their own destiny this weekend.

If the Reds can win their home tournament Saturday, then they will secure that coveted nationals berth. Should the Reds fail to win it, they'll have to finish higher than NOLA or it's all she wrote for Dallas. Now, if they do finish ahead of New Orleans but don't win first place, that's where things get interesting.

The Austin Huns lurk closely behind NOLA and Dallas, and if they can improve upon their second-place finish at the last qualifier, then it could very well wind up a three-way tie for first place. However, this will only come into play if Dallas finishes higher than New Orleans, but loses to Austin in the final.

Here's a look at the standings:

New Orleans: 10 points

Dallas Reds: 8 points

Austin Huns: 6 points

In each tournament first place receives 6 points, second place receives 4 points, and third place receives 2 points. Fourth place receives 1 point.

So, the Huns need to win it and need some help. Dallas just needs to win it. And New Orleans needs to either win it or finish ahead of Dallas. It's going to get very intense in north Texas this weekend, and there's no doubt the winner of this series will head to Kansas City battle-tested.
