Samurai PRP Player Of The Week: Devereaux Ferris, Life West
Devereaux Ferris drives the Life West engine.
First place for Life West going into finals weekend in the Pacific Rugby Premiership, but while #1 is the goal, much will probably hinge on #9.
That would be scrumhalf Devereaux Ferris, our Samurai Pacific Rugby Premiership Player Of The Week for Round 10.

As the Gladiators have run through an impressive 8-2 regular season, combining immense power with athleticism and pace, it is Ferris who pulls those strings and uses whatever works at any moment.
“Last year he was carrying some injuries, but he played with the USA in the fall and came back and has had a superb season,” said his coach and his dad, Adriaan Ferris. “We made him captain, which put some pressure on him, but he’s done well and he keeps working hard on different areas of his game.”
Quick and aggressive, Ferris ca go on his own or set others up—always being a threat to run makes him additionally dangerous. Perhaps key for him, though, has been his passing. He has more distance and accuracy with his pass, and that allows his backs to set up wide, and opens up options for the entire team.
