Life had to battle hard to defeated Navy last week. But Lindenwood probably had an even tougher time of it against Arkansas State.

At stake? A place in the D1A Final in Santa Clara. Life has been in every championship game since 2013, winning in 2013, 2016, and 2018. Lindenwood? Well, this is what wing Christian Rodriguez said: "We have a strong history at our school of winning national championships ... it's in sevens but why not win one in 15s? We have the players, and we have the facilities and coaches to do it."

Saint Mary's hosts Cal at 3:00PM ET in the D1A Semifinals

These are old rivals, with the teams basically splitting who beats the other over the past eight years. Cal defeated the Gaels in Berkeley on March 30, not Saint Mary's plays host to the Golden Bears.

This is always a game of wide-open play, hugely physical defense, and some kind of strange occurrence that tips the tide. Saint Marys has the reputation of being the wide-open risk-taker, but Cal can do that, too, often better than anyone.

History In Glendale

Friday night at 7PM ET, the USA Women's 15s team takes on the stories Barbarians FC in the first-ever international for the Barbarians women's team. Here's a photo of the USA team warming up for training.

If you're in the Denver area, this is a must-see. If you're not, we've got it live.

Meanwhile, In France ...

It's Round 29 of the French Pro D2 with Montauban vs Nevers. Siting 6th in the standings at present, Nevers could leap up to 3rd with a victory and some misfortune from others. And a win with a Beziers loss will clinch a playoff spot.

Montauban vs Nevers KO Saturday, April 27 KO 2:30PM ET, 1:30PM CT

In the Top 14, FloRugby continues a string of high-level French games.

Toulon has woken up and takes on Greg Peterson and Bordeaux-Bégles. It's perhaps too late for Toulon, but Bordeaux needs this win to hold onto the 6th and final playoff spot.

Stade Francais is chasing that spot after a rough mid-season, and takes on league #2 Clermont. Two weeks ago, Clermont scored 44 points ... and lost. They will not want to be so lax on defense this time around.

Toulon vs Bordeaux Sunday, April 27 KO 6:30AM ET

MLR Nationality Breakdown By Position: New England Freejacks

New England Free Jacks

The other day I was thinking about fly-halves in the MLR -- since that is my position -- and I got to thinking how few American players there are playing fly-half in Major League Rugby. The only ones I could think of off the top of my head were Ben Cima (SEA), Scott Dean (SEA), Tadgh Leader (NE) and Zinzan Elan-Puttick (AUS) -- and it's worth noting that both Leader and Elan-Puttick grew up playing rugby in Ireland and South Africa respectively.
