The USA men's 7s team started well in the Vancouver 7s. 

After giving up an early try, the Eagles exposed Wales with Carlin Isles being the chief exposer. A rare start for Brett Thompson saw the former University of Arizona football player kick some butt and take a few names, while Martin Iosefo was hugely influential.

"We just keep sticking to the basics; we got the first match out of the way and we know how it is [here]," said Isles. "We keep doing the little things right we'll be alright."

Isles raced by the Welsh players like the Wesh had lead in their boots, and scored three. Marcus Tupuola got his first score this season, and Iosefo and Madison Hughes capped off a 40-14 win.

The USA showed now signs of letting up even with Danny Barrett and Perry Baker out hurt.
