UC Davis visits Cal in a very tough outing for the Aggies, but a good challenge, too. Cal is favored in one of the Bears' traditional early games. They already crossed off UCLA (at the Storer Classic), and Cal Maritime - both wins.

Arizona at San Diego State is a huge early game for both, as these teams will be pushing for D1A playoff honors, and will need this game.

"Excited to get the first one going, these guys have been hitting each other for a month now so it'll be good to hit someone in a different color jersey for the first time," said Arizona head coach Sean Duddy. "The leadership group has been tremendous. Some new guys that I think are going to surprise this year that I'm looking forward to seeing play."

This is one of two PAC Rugby - California Conference crossover games. The other is Cal Poly at UCLA. These two teams are in the same playoff situation as the Wildcats and Aztecs. Someone is going to come out of this game feeling better about their ranking chances, and the loser will have some work to do.

Arkansas at Oklahoma is a huge game in the Red River, as both teams are looking to challenge Texas A&M for the conference title.

The Pac West and Gold Coast get started now, with the game of the week very likely being Chico State against Stanford. If Chico State can win this one, then they might well be on their way.

Meanwhile, in the NCRC, Western Washington is coming off a two-win weekend and now looks at visiting Oregon. This might well be the game of the NCRC season. Oregon has already lost to Western, and needs this one to challenge for 1st in Pool A. Washington State, led by Mitchell Delmage and Aidan Gray, is undefeated in Pool B and has a good shot at staying that way.

The question is whether Gonzaga (2-1 right now) can hold onto 2nd.
