Social Media Wrap-Up: Who's Scared, Who's Moving, Who's Ready

Headlining this week in the rugby social media sphere: Six Nations captains play Connect Four, England gets scarier, and mauling teams move on to the Heineken Champions Cup Quarter Finals. In America, season two of the MLR is set to kickoff and an All-American rugger chooses college football.

Crossover to Colorado

Quinn Perry is unarguably one of the best young American rugby talents and he is now committed to playing college football at the University of Colorado. With both High School All-American and Junior All-American titles stamped on his rugby resume. In 2018, Perry pumped out highlights in the Pacific Rugby Premiership. In 2019, he’ll suit up for new head coach Mel Tucker as an outside linebacker.

Mauling Teams Move On

Toulouse and Leinster are two of the remaining eight teams in the Heineken Champions Cup and unsurprisingly the two clubs dominate the maul with their power and cohesion.

England Scares Me But Not Ireland

Put away the Maro Itoje Brexit rumors as he has re-signed with the Saracens. Oh, and England’s wing is only an inch shorter and five pounds heavier than Itoje.  At 6’4 260 lbs, Joe Cokanosiga towers over his wing mate Chris Ashton.

England and Ireland are busying preparing for their Six Nations opener while their skippers go head-to-head in captain’s Connect Four. I’ll take Farrell in the puzzle game, but Rory Best on Feb 2.

Major League Momentum

A minor league ball park housing a rugby pitch is hard to imagine, but this drone shot sets the scene for the MLR's season two debut. The Sabercats head to Austin to take on the Elite at Dell Diamond on January 26th at 7pm CT.
