Saint Mary's

A week after a flight cancelation meant no game against Grand Canyon (that game is rescheduled for March 2), the Saint Mary's Gaels will take on two conference opponents on Saturday.

At 1pm PT, 3pm CT, the Gaels take on a Santa Clara team that is a very tough out.

And then two hours later, Saint Mary's hosts UC Santa Barbara. These two teams lost to Saint Mary's by close to 150 points in 2018. The Gaels will be favored in both, but will have to draw on their depth to do it.

French Top 14 and Pro D2

In the Pro D2, this is a playoff preview as 6th-place Beziers (11-7 on the season) faces 4th-place Brive (11-6-1) in a game that has all sorts of crucial ramifications.

Brive's Thomas Laranjeira leads the league with 190 points scored, while Beziers has one of the stingiest defenses in a relatively high-scoring league.

Kickoff is Friday, Jan 25 at 1:30pm CT and the game is available to subscribers in the USA and Canada.

In the Top 14, two games are on tap for US and Canadian subscribers, both on Sunday, January 27.

Toulouse takes on Grenoble as the 2nd-place Toulouse club looks to overhaul Clermont for 1st. Grenoble sits 12th, but could bump up two spots with a win, and wouldn't be that far out of 8th at that point.

Kickoff Sunday, Jan. 27 5:30am CT. Watch Live

One of those teams Grenoble could leapfrog is Toulon, which is in kind of a now or never situation. And the now is Stade Francais, 9-5 and in 4th, after a bit of a slump, the Paris club is not secure in a playoff position and has to worry about Greg Peterson and Bordeaux-Bègles, among others.

Kickoff Sunday, Jan. 27 9:50am CT. Watch Live

Premiership Rugby Cup

We're back with the next round of the Premiership Rugby Cup, which features some of the young, exciting up-and-comers in English pro rugby. US and Canada fans can see Bristol take on Exeter Chiefs Saturday at 9am CT.

Both of these teams are 2-1 so far. For Exeter, this is a chance to consolidate 1st in Pool 1. For Bristol, the Bears are in a three-way virtual tie in Pool 3, but are behind Gloucester and Northampton due to bonus points and tiebreakers. The Bears need to take care of business this week.

Guinness PRO14

If you are watching from Latin America, Spain, Portugal, France, the Middle East, or North Africa, you can see every Guinness PRO14 game this weekend.

Friday:

Benetton vs Ulster

This is a huge game. Both teams are in Conference B. Benetton is 7-6 with 35 points in the standings and in 3rd place. Ulster (7-5-1, 33) is in 5th. Both need this win to feel stronger in the playoff picture.

Ospreys vs Glasgow Warriors

Another massive clash. Glasgow is 2nd in Conference A, and Ospreys sit 3rd. Now, the Ospreys may not get 2nd with a win, but would make 2nd much more within reach.

Watch Live

Scarlets vs Leinster

Leinster has 1st in Conference B sewn up, pretty much. For Scarlets, a win here would go a long, long way to making a quarterfinal spot secure.

Saturday

Munster vs Dragons

Munster is 1st in Conference A and the Dragons are 6th in Conference B. Thihs is a chance for Munster to perhaps rest some players and cruise ... maybe.

Watch Live

Zebre vs Toyota Cheetahs

This is 7th in Conference A vs 6th in Conference A. There's a ton of pride associated with this game.

Watch Live

Connacht vs Cardiff Blues

It's been an up-and-down season for the Blues, and this is a crucial game for them, and for Connacht. Connacht is 4th in Conference A and 7-6; Cardiff 5th and 6-7. Top four are in the quarterfinals, so this is a game that's all about who can think seriously about the playoffs.

Watch Live

Edinburgh vs Southern Kings

Despite being last in Conference B, the Southern Kings are superbly dynamic and entertaining. Edinburgh is on a huge high after a solid couple of weeks in the Heineken Champions Cup, and could get a lock on 2nd with a win.
