Colton Cariaga Breaks Down Life v Army Game

The fans have voted and the Coach of the Year in American Men's rugby is Colton Cariaga of Life University.

Cariaga, who, along with his staff, led Life University to a fairly dominant championship run in D1A last season, dominated a very strong field with 39% of the vote.

He beat out Gary Gold (10-2 for the USA Men's 15s team), Josh Smith (club 15s championship, won NY 7s, 2nd at Club 7s), Mike Friday (took USA 7s to top 5 in World Series, including a Las Vegas tournament win), and Salty Thompson and Brendan Keane, who led Eagle Impact Rugby Academy to successful tours in Ireland, Ontario, British Columbia, and Las Vegas.

Fans could also write in candidates and three coaches got plenty of love that way - Tui Osborn from St. Bonaventure, for taking an unranked team to FloRugby's top 12, Bruce McLane, who led Iona to its highest ranking ever, and Gavin Hickie, who led Navy to a strong showing throughout the season.

But Cariaga beat them all, getting over 39% of the vote. Second was Smith, with 16.5%.
