CHICAGO, IL - The U.S. Men's National Team (15s) has added seven players to its squad for the November Internationals 2018, with one serving as an injury replacement.  

Seven additional players will be in the mix for The Rugby Weekend Presented by UL. The additions include 2018 Collegiate All-Americans Chance Wenglewski and Alex Maughan, Tim Maupin, Psalm Wooching, Luke Hume, Marcel Brache and Gannon Moore. Olive Kilifi who was named in the original roster will be out due to injury.

Wenglewski, who is an All American prop out of LIndenwood University, is uncapped. Maughan, who was captain of Life University last season when the Running Eagles won D1A, is a prop who is shifting to hooker, where he played most of the time in the Americas Pacific Championship.

Brache has been an effective center and wing for the USA, but has been battling injury and it's unclear whether he will be fit for Chicago. Hume, on the other hand, is fit and raring to go. The aggressive and elusive wing hasn't played for the USA under Gary Gold - in fact it's been two and a half years - but he has 20 caps and has scored three tries for the Eagles.

Wooching also played in the APC. The hard-hitting flanker was a HS All American before shifting to football and becoming an All Pac 12 linebacker at the University of Washington. Maupin has been in the USA mix for six years, but his best moments have mostly come playing for the USA Selects.

The Saint Mary's grad has only seven caps, and none since 2014, but was a bright spot for the USA in the APC.

The newest of the new names is Gannon Moore.

The former Kansas City Blue has been playing in New Zealand with North Harbour and the Silverdale club, and before that he played in the old PRO Rugby league, with Denver.

He has been in the conversation for a few years, shaking up the RugbyTown 7s in 2015, and before then, playing for the Rugby Nebraska HS All-Star team. That performance earned him a look with the HS All Americans.

LIke Wooching, he made a choice to play football in college - running back - but came back to rugby after that and has been working away hoping to get that chance.

The chance has come. The USA is shallow at center, with Brache potentially still injured, and Paul Lasike not available for The Rugby Weekend. 

These additions, then, have shored up some areas of concern for the USA, but could also be a first, or second, chance for some of these players.

Following The Rugby Weekend, the Men's Eagles will face Samoa in San Sebastian on Nov. 10 and Romania in Bucharest on Nov. 17 before closing out their November schedule against Ireland on Nov. 24 in Dublin.
