Could Harvard be the best women's college team in the country?
Well, while Life, Lindenwood, and Penn State might beg to differ, the Crimson has pushed aside two of the strongest NIRA opponents in consecutive weeks to lay claim to a modicum of respect, if nothing else.
After beating two-time defending champion Quinnipiac last week, Harvard doubled down on bragging rights with a 28-17 defeat of West Point. Senior Jenny Kronish notched 18 points on her own with a try, two conversions, and three penalty goals, while freshman Sofie Felia and senior Caitlin Weigel added tries.
Harvard, in fact, handled the game nicely and led 18-5 at halftime. Army was unable to get much closer.
This puts Harvard squarely on top of the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association league with a 2-0 record. All eyes now town to the September 22 clash between the Crimson and the Big Green of Dartmouth.
