Men's D1A and D1AA teams are in full preseason now and already we've seen a few surprises. 

But only a few.

Here's a look at this weekend's action and a look also at FloRugby's predictions for these games.

FloRugby Was Wrong

Fordham took home a 26-5 win over Rutgers, a game FloRugby predicted would be a close Rutgers win. Similarly, we had Towson winning a Chesapeake Conference game against Virginia Tech, but the Hokies won instead.

And finally, FloRugby had Bowling Green vs Michigan as a game too close to pick. Instead, Bowling Green rolled over the Wolverines 34-0.

These Things Happen

BC could not fulfill its trip to Notre Dame, so that game didn't happen. 

On The Money

Clemson defeated Texas A&M in Texas 18-12 in a FloRugby pick'em game, which it turned out to be. Both teams have a long season ahead of them and this result, while a very good one for the Tigers, shouldn't be thought of as a major predictor of future results.

St. Bonaventure at Navy. This game ended 15-0 after Navy scored right at the end of the game. FloRugby predicted a 15-point win for Navy, but really to hold Navy to just 15 is a positive move for Bonnies.

Syracuse beat Stony Brook by much more than the nine points FloRugby predicted, taking the SeaWolves down 46-10. Stony Brook at Syracuse. Two Liberty teams who have some work to do. Syracuse by 9. 46-10.

Lindenwood-Belleville almost did it again. It was thanks to two tries from freshman Mike Nettleton (Fishers HS) that Indiana emerged winners 18-14.

We had Indiana by nine, but the Lynx fought hard and got tries from Tinashe Muchena and Kyle Hopcraft.

AIC beat Yale 38-19 (we had AIC by 10), Middle Tennessee State beat Vanderbilt and also Tennessee Tech by a lot (as expected). Army won a dramatic and back-and-forth clash with rival Dartmouth 32-25 (we had Army by 15).

And in the opening of conference play in the Chesapeake, defending conference champion Mary Washington (also the defending D1A champs), won 66-7 over Salisury, a game we had UMW winning by 30.

Juuust A Little Bit Off

Ohio State outperformed the predictions with a 67-8 defeat of a solid Cincinnati team (FloRugby expected a 21-point win).

FloRugby had Notre Dame College winning over Buffalo, which is what happened, by 17, which didn't. The Falcons ran home 65-0 winners.

We had Kentucky beating Louisville by five, and the Wildcats came home 38-point victors 41-3. Logan Butler led from the front again, while freshmen Aidan Gill and Kai Carlberg were strong in their first starts.
