A couple of notes about Bryce Campbell ...

1. When the USA finished up the game against Scotland, an injury to John Quill forced Campbell to be put in at flanker from his usual center position.

2. Campbell shrugged, walked over to a lineout five meters from his tryline, and camped out at the back looking for something to do.

3. It was Scotland's throw and the Scots won the lineout but the ball rolled loose. Campbell, ever vigilant, launched his body at the ball and almost nabbed it.

Had he succeeded in grabbing that ball - and he was very close - the game would like have been over. The Eagles won anyway, but the game could have been sealed by a back playing out of position at the most crucial moment.

4. He likes to eat.

5. A produce of the Royal Irish program in Indianapolis, and the 2017 Rudy Scholz Award winner as the top men's college player in the country, Campbell has gone from strength to strength. His not starting against Canada was the first time in 12 test matches that he hasn't started at either inside center or outside center, and in those previous 11 games he played every minute.

6. Since his first cap November 12, 2016 against Romania, he has only missed the game right after - November 19, 2016 against Tonga. In his 18 test matches the USA is 13-4-1, and if you include the additional games against Argentina XV, the Eagles are 14-4-2.

7. No USA player who has started at least 16 games has a better winning percentage.

8. Poised to possibly win the Major League Rugby title this coming weekend when his Glendale Raptors face the Seattle Seawolves, Campbell will then move on to play for London Irish in the Rugby Championship in England.

9. When he arrives at London Irish, Campbell will show fans and teammates there what we already know: a) He's an animal on the field; b) He is an extremely nice person off the field; c) No one will have an easy time trying to get by him; d) He will give his team everything, and maybe, if you move him to flanker, a little bit more.
