Elite-level sevens is going to get a bigger boost in 2019 as the NAI 7s will link up with two more tournaments to create the North American High School 7s series.

The NAHS has been in existence for a couple of years, tying in events such as the LVI. But a strict series hasn't quite materialized. It will. Until then, the North American Invitational 7s will serve as the launching pad, and will be shown LIVE on FloRugby August 2-3.

The NAI 7s will once again feature brackets for boys and girls at ages from U14s on up to U18 Elite. In addition, the tournament has opened a U20 bracket, and the men's U20s division is already filled up.

Get Ready For The NAI 7s

Returning teams such as Atlantis, EIRA, Utah Lions, Upright Rugby, Canadian Misfits, USA Rugby South, and Play Rugby will be back for another round. In addition, the Arizona Bobcats, Rocky Mountain Rebels, Rock Rugby, Belmont Shore, Goth HS out of Spokane, Stars, and potentially Kahuku and a team or two from Australia are slated to compete.

That U20 bracket, with the Bobcats, Misfits, Upright, EIRA, Utah Lions, Rhino Rugby, Stars, and Atlantis, promises to showcase plenty of talent.

"Thar's going to be some pretty good competition right there," said tournament director Michael Cressler.

The NAI 7s and the series as a whole has become an elite funnel for USA Rugby and Rugby Canada. With high-level coaches doing the scouting, all those governing bodies have to do is watch and judge.

FloRugby will be there once more.
