Eagles Picked For June Tests

USA Rugby has announced its Men's National 15s Team squad for the upcoming June test matches.

The Eagles will be playing Russia June 9 in Denver, Scotland June 16 in Houston, and Canada June 23 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Of the 30 national team athletes entering training camp, more than half will join the squad from Major League Rugby. In addition, the USA players playing overseas are available for selection, making for a few changes in the squad compared to the Americas Rugby Championship in February.

Overseas players Blaine Scully, Joe Taufete'e, Nick Civetta, Ruben de Haas, Chris Baumann, Samu Manoa, AJ MacGinty, James Hilterbrand, Will Hooley, and Eric Fry (back from injury) are all in the squad. So is David Tameilau, who was playing in France before moving back to the USA to play with the Utah MLR team.

"We are really excited about the group of guys coming into camp this month," said USA head coach Gary Gold. "After a successful start to the season and with the return of several key players, the men are anxious to begin training for three challenging test matches ahead."

While Mike Te'o is out injured, Marcel Brache is back from injury and ready to play again.

Some new faces are also on the list: Ulster prop Callum Black and Houston SaberCats front-rower Paul Mullen get a shot at a first cap.
