The Red River Rugby Collegiate Conference has announced that it has finalized its restructuring for the 2018-19 season.

Texas Christian and Houston are no longer in the conference and will compete outside of D1A. North Texas, as reported on FloRugby, has already joined the conference, so the Red River is now an eight-team competition split into a North Division and a South Division.

The big shift here is that Baylor moves from the North to the South.

“This is a quality group of teams that are constantly improving their standard of play,” interim RRRCC Commissioner Phil Terrigno said. “All of the teams have a really strong shared vision and are committed to being expansive on and off the pitch.”

The conference members will play in their respective divisions, and then the top team in the North and top team in the South will play off for the conference championship. In the last four seasons, the Red River Conference has had four different champions: Oklahoma, LSU, Baylor, and Texas A&M.
