Life University put the Central Washington Wildcats to the sword Saturday LIVE on FloRugby, taking the D1A Round of 16 game in convincing fashion 87-7.

The Running Eagles of Life University have been in dominant form much of the season, with only one game, at home against Lindenwood, that could be described as close. CWU has only logged a couple of major victories, and just made it to the #15 seed - the reward for which was a 2,700-mile trip to Georgia and the Running Eagles.

Early tries from Mitch Wilson, Keagan Sparks, Ryan Rees, and George Phelan staked the Running Eagles to a 26-0 lead after 14 minutes, and while CWU threatened the line occasionally, Life didn’t let up.

A penalty try, Sean Coughlan, and Austin White made it 45-0 after 23 minutes.

Things settled down a little bit after that, but Life did extend the lead before halftime with a try from lock Mike Islava, to make the Running Eagles’ lead 52-0 at the break.

Harley Wheeler, Rees, Jason Riekena, Maciu Koroi, and and a forwards try in a maul finished it all off. Duncan Van Schalkwyk kicked 10 of 12 conversions and Malkowicz added one of his own.

Central got one try in the second half, but was overmatched.
