Samurai PRP Player Of The Week: Devereaux Ferris, Life West
Devereaux Ferris gets our Player of the Week nod after sparking Life West to a comeback win.
There's something to be said about sparking a comeback.
Devereaux Ferris certainly did that in Life West's 19-17 victory over Belmont Shore on Saturday and as a result gets our Samurai Pacific Rugby Premiership Player of the Week nod.
Ferris, who just came back to the Life West fold after being called up to the USA national team, helped lead the visiting Gladiators rally from a 17-0 deficit in their trip to Long Beach, CA.
"We had to dig deep," Life West head coach Adriaan Ferris said. "And Devereaux scored an outstanding try and organized our forward pack all game. His distribution and energy on attack and defense were key to our on-field organization."
The win put Life West at 3-2 and right in the middle of a three-team chase for second place in the PRP standings—that's good enough for Player of the Week in our book.
