PRP Top Plays Round 4

It's Round 5 of the Pacific Rugby Premiership, and somebody has to haul in 4-0 OMBAC, and this week it's the turn of Santa Monica.

Pacific Rugby Premiership Midseason Clash LIVE on FloRugby March 31

The Dolphins are winless, but have strung together some periods of effective rugby. Size has been an issue up front. Much will be expected of the front row of Andrew Stock, Conor Clancy, and Robert Cleere.

PRP Round 1 Plays Of The Week

OMBAC moves last week's Man of the Match Shane Moise from blindside to openside, and FloRugby's Player Of The Week, Jed Gillespie, is solid there atr loosehead.

Michael Dillon moves to flyhalf after being at fullback last week, with Ian Denham moving from wing to fullback.

Dillon leads the league in points scored, while wing Tim Stanfill and lock Tai Tuisamoa are tied for the league lead in tries.

Life West welcomes back Eagle prop Huluholo Maungaloa and he starts at hooker as the Gladiators look to build on a big win last week over Olympic Club. A victory for Life West over Belmont Shore would put the two teams in a tie for 2nd.

PRP Top Plays Of Round 2

Life West will want to leverage its size in the front row and a powerful, mobile back row. However, Shore has an experienced and grouchy forward pack. The battle at halfback will be a good one, and Jonathan Gray is very savvy, and Devereaux Ferris is back from USA duty.

Watch out for impact sub Robert Newcomb, who has come on as a sub all season and is tied for the league lead in tries along with the two OMBAC players named above, and teammate Keni Nasoqeqe.

It feels a little like a make or break weekend for two Northern California teams as O-Club faces SFGG on Treasure Island. O-Club could launch itself into the middle of everything with a win, while SFGG could get back to chasing 2nd with a victory.

O-Club president Andrew King said the team has been good in patches, but inconsistency - in play and in players available - has killed them. The one constant for Olympic Club appears to be Dustin Muhn, who has made several spectacular plays on offense and defense. O-Club has another new face at flyhalf, with Michael Haley doing the honors this time around, and Tanner Mohr, who made his name as a prop at Cal, plays flanker.

PRP Round 3 Top Plays

SFGG, meanwhile, had to love seeing Brendan Daley back from USA duty and scoring a try. But the team's loss to OMBAC last week had to sting, as Golden Gate had an opportunity to win that game.

This game will be a part of a huge St. Patrick's Day o' Rugby at Ray Sheeran Field, with a Seniors Game also against Olympic Club, the Women's D2 team against Life West, and the Men's D2 team against Santa Rosa.
