LSU has a tall order in playing at Life University this Saturday, but that's just fine with Tigers coach Bob Causey as his team prepares to travel to Marietta, GA.

"We're excited about it," said Causey, whose LSU squad has scored a combined 127 points in its first two games in the Red River Conference this season. "We're going to bus out there, take two sides, and see how we go. We will get a lot of good things out of it."

Which, of course, is the attitude any team has to have in putting together a college schedule. Causey always wants to find difficult teams to play — he took his Tigers to Arkansas State two years ago. But the players have to buy in, too.

"We have a strong nucleus of guys who know they can gain something form playing a team like Life," Causey said.

"I have had groups before who say, 'We don't want to play a team like Life.' This group is saying, 'Yeah! Let's play them.' I have seen too many teams win in their conference and get to the playoffs and not be ready for the level of play. We want to be ready, and this is how we get there."

LSU's Brennan Falcon Wins 2017 RRC Player Of The Year:

Red River Rugby Conference Player Of The Year

LSU is without one big name, as Australian-trained flyhalf Jack Remond has returned to his home country, but the Tigers have experienced players such as Cameron Troxler to fill in at pivot.

Hunter Briet is a versatile package at hooker, and Brennan Falcon leads from the front, and pretty much everywhere else, at loose forward. The Tigers are going to Georgia to learn something about themselves, but they may be teaching Life a few things, too.
