At FloRugby we have compiled our list of top freshmen from the 2017 fall season in D1AA rugby.

This list features 30 players and is the result of scouting and recommendations from coaches around the country. As a result, we don't have an even distribution of positions. Oddly, five of the players are props, normally a position that requires some experience and physical maturity.

Center is another well-populated position. The reason for this? We think it's due to more and more athletes joining college teams with a solid foundation in the basics. It's a lot easier to slot a player in at prop - even if he is a freshman - if he's been taught that position already. And while we're not seeing a lot of players at the decision-making positions of scrumhalf and flyhalf, center is an excellent position in which a talented, well-coached freshman back can show his understanding of the game.

Watch out for these players in the future.
