A pair of RugbyPA boys teams are looking to take home hardware while competing in separate divisions at the New York Sevens Tournament this weekend.

Last year, RugbyPA sent one team to New York and placed second to Canadian squad Upright Rugby Rogues in the boys premier division. This time, the Pennsylvania program has entered two squads in the premier and open high school divisions for Saturday's tournament.

Altogether, 12 boys premier games at the New York Sevens are streaming live on FloRugby, including the Cup Final and the Plate Final. The boys club division is also available for viewing, including the Cup Final.

The RugbyPA teams were selected from a pool of over 40 players who were scouted to work out at selection camps over the past three weeks. The program made a special effort to scout players from Western and Central Pennsylvania, and six players from those regions made the final cut, which is a first for RugbyPA.

"[The New York Sevens] is the best mix of fun and exposure of any tournament," said Scott Brown, who runs the Rugby Pennsylvania high school program. “These guys do a tremendous job of putting on a tournament that is genuinely what rugby is about — showcasing great athletes and great rugby players — but win or lose, I guarantee the kids will be hanging out together.”
