The Liberty Challenge, featuring as many as 12 teams from the Liberty Conference in crossover fall finales, is streaming live on FloRugby on Nov. 18, and the conference picture is clearing after a busy weekend of action.

Iona's win over UMass was among a few surprises this past week, but the final scoreline, 32-17, was much closer than many would have expected. The Gaels arrived late due to traffic, and they didn't start well. Only an imposing defensive performance from Mike Scarcella and three tries from John Powers kept them ahead.

Binghamton and Syracuse met in a clash of two 3-1 teams in the Empire Division, and BU dominated for a 38-0 win. 

Flyhalf Conor O’Brien led Albany with a try and a drop goal, and flanker Brian Mahon scored 11 points as Albany shocked Colgate 34-10.

Cortland remained undefeated, taking down Brockport 28-14. Lock Ricky Mosall and scrumhalf Bryan Madan each scored a try, and hooker Mike Dotzler had two while converting three. Cortland has been tough on defense and excellent at making meters after contact, and that's why the team is at 5-0.

Led by Matthew Stratford, Fordham beat Fairfield 37-17 in a game that didn't count in the standings. 

In another non-standings game, Northeastern slammed New Hampshire 78-17. NU was too quick with its support running and ball recycling for New Hampshire.

Freshman wing Deni Makhauri scored three tries and was the player of the game. Lock Jim O'Shea and flanker Matt Larouche each bagged a brace.

These teams will face off at Fairfield University in a series of games Nov. 18, covered live by FloRugby. 

Matchups are to be confirmed, but Cortland against either Northeastern or UConn might be the marquee clash.
