
Austin Elite Rugby Management has announced the signing of scrumhalf Michael Reid for the 2018 Major League Rugby season.
Reid began playing rugby at the age of 5 in Durban at Crusaders Rugby Club, then played with the Pirates in Johannesburg, South Africa.
After moving to Virginia, he played for the Warrenton Wolfpack and was a High School All-American for four years and a member of the 2014 Junior World Cup Trophy team. He also played for the Taranaki U18s and U19s, the USA U20s, San Francisco Rush PRO league, and the Austin Huns championship 15s.

Reid praised his prior experience with the Huns, saying, "Taking it all the way to the final was something special."
He is looking forward to Major League Rugby "taking off" with "a good bunch of guys around me." He is excited to be a part of building the new league and focusing on rugby at the highest levels.
