For the second year in a row, Arkansas won the Red River Rugby Conference 7s championship, defeating Texas A&M 26-12 in the final on Saturday in Stephenville, Texas.

It was a competitive tournament, with several games decided by a try or less.

That included the semifinal between Arkansas and Baylor, which the Razorbacks took 26-21 in overtime. Baylor went on to take third over LSU 26-14.

Texas took the plate in fifth place with a 15-14 nail-biter over Oklahoma.

Alex Rees was superb for the champion Razorbacks, and he combined nicely with freshman Tyson Lucas, who has gone from strength to strength.

While USA Rugby has not officially listed its qualifiers for its college 7s championships, it's expected that this conference championship will be one of those qualifiers.

As this year's Red River winner, Arkansas has punched its ticket to nationals once again.
