
The top D1 college performers of the past week included some 7s and a lot of 15s. Here's a look at the well-known names and a few breakout performers who cracked this week's list.
Alex Rees, Arkansas
The sparkplug scrumhalf was a welcome re-addition to the Razorbacks' lineup as they won the opening 7s tournament in the Red River Conference series. Rees was among the team’s leaders in scoring tries and setting up his teammates.
Jake Smith, Syracuse
Smith (pictured above) scored three tries and played strong at center as Syracuse defeated Colgate.
Cameron Troxler, LSU
Now playing center for the Tigers, Troxler was a key attacking threat and player of the game as LSU beat Clemson.
Mike Scarcella, Iona

Leo Van Buskirk
The Penn State lock made the tight five sing in the breakdowns and was solid on the pillar defense. He also showed some nice skills out wide and kicked a 50-meter penalty as Penn State beat Kutztown.
Josh Hall, Iowa State
At flanker, Hall created turnovers to set up scoring opportunities and broke the gain line repeatedly to get his team going forward as Iowa State hammered Washington University.
Joe Phillips, UConn
Connecticut defeated UMass in Liberty Conference action, and Phillips, who plays center is the team captain, scored four tries.
Brandon Healy, Binghamton
The Binghamton flyhalf scored 16 points as his team rebounded from a disappointing loss to defeat Albany.
Jack Kelly, Rhode Island
The URI No. 8 scored two crucial tries and led from the front as Rhode Island recorded its first D1A victory, defeating Fairfield.
Jeffrey Clark, Utah State
The USU flyhalf scored 26 points, including two tries, as the Aggies downed the Wyoming Cowboys 56-12.
Dane Fleck, Wisconsin
The Badgers fullback notched four tries as Wisconsin rolled over Minnesota.
Jarrod Polk, Michigan State
Breaking into the starting lineup at wing, Polk upped the tempo and tenacity and made several big plays (although he didn’t score) as the Spartans moved to 2-0 with a win over Illinois.
