Iona Slams Fordham, Moves To 3-0 In Conference
Iona College defeated Fordham rugby 63-17 in Liberty Conference play on Friday night.
In a meeting of two previously undefeated Liberty Conference rivals, Iona slammed Fordham 63-17 on the road Friday night.
Mike Scarcella and Mike Marro both scored two tries for the Gaels, with John Powers, Dylan Evans, Nandipha Dube, Michael Hay, Matt Crowe, and Colby-Alexander Marshall all touching down.
The victory put Iona in the driver's seat in the Liberty I-95 Division, with the Gaels improving to 3-0 and Fordham dropping to 1-1.
Iona has scored 62, 62, and 63 points in their three conference games, respectively. As the program prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary, the Gaels are set up very nicely for their homecoming game in two weeks against Army.
