European Champs, USA Islanders, College All-Stars Ready For Bermuda

Bermuda is hosting two huge kickoff rugby games on August 10 as the European champion Saracens take on the USA Islanders and an all-star team from the new Liberty Collegiate Conference plays the Republic of Texas All-Stars as the curtain-raiser of the Atlantic Rugby Cup.

Both games are streaming LIVE on

The Liberty All-Stars and Republic of Texas All-Stars will kick off at 4:30 PM ET (5:30 PM local time).

The Saracens and USA Islanders will kick off at 6:30 PM ET (7:30 PM local time) and 11:30 PM UTC (London time).

It's going to be a clash of a USA Islanders team that includes several capped Eagles and several more talented, athletic players trying to reach that level.

The Saracens' roster will include Chris Ashton, Maro Itoje, Owen Farrell, and England stars Billy and Mako Vunipola. Former USA captain Chris Wyles will also be in the lineup. For the Islanders, veterans Ollie Kilifi, Shalom Suniula, and Tai Tuisamoa combine with developing players Joeli Tikoisuva, Matai Leuta, and Sione Tu'ihalamaka to create a team of size, speed, and excitement.

Several of the USA Islanders players are known to the general rugby fans. Colton Cariaga (Philippines ancestry) is a former Life University All-American. Paula Fukafuka is a massive prop who has been a presence in the front row at SFGG and Hayward. Gerson Blaise has been a USA sevens prospect.

Like Fukafuka, Patrick Latu has been another longtime top prop. Langilangi Haupeakui played for the USA and is a huge hitter.

There are others who are a little less known. See Pago Haini show off his running skills below.

The Atlantic Rugby Cup will also raise money for Beyond Rugby, a project to help the at-risk youth in Bermuda through rugby.
