The pool draws for the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series' penultimate stop in Paris on May 13 have been released, with Canada taking the top seed after winning the series' eighth round in Singapore. The Canadians headline Pool A, which also features series leader South Africa, Scotland, and Japan. The USA Eagles, who were Singapore runners-up, were drawn in Pool B with New Zealand, Wales, and Argentina.

While South Africa still has a commanding 25-point lead over second-place Fiji, the real story near the top of the table is the USA's pursuit of New Zealand for a top four finish. Right now, the Eagles are only nine points behind the historically great All Blacks. The USA has now made it to three straight semifinals, the most in team history. So with all the momentum that the Eagles seem to be building, can they close the slim gap in the last two stops of the series?
